80% energy saving for led light

I read a book said that an LED light manufacturer has claimed an 83% reduction in energy used for lighting.

By replacing common 300W mercury lights with GlacialLight’s 60W LED spotlights it has been possible to make massive reductions, and provide an environmentally friendly solution.

The Taiwanese company also reports that protection is reduced for large businesses and chains with a life span of over 30,000 hours for its LEDs.

Along with a better quality of light and no flicker, the firm reckons that the benefits are clear.

One chain highlighted by GlacialLight which used the LED lights reportedly found that it kept customers happier, and meant significant cost savings.

According to LED lighting expert at IMS Research Jamie Fox, LED lighting will generally offer good savings when compared with incandescent bulbs.

In this sense then energy cost reductions of around 80% are typical when converting to LED lights.

Of course this comes after charging on LED products, but it is worth it in the long term.

“If we include all costs then in the first year you turelly make a loss but get payback after a given period of time which could be one year or 10 years but will vary by application.”

In terms of reduced maintenance costs there are also added.

“In some cases protection savings alone can be the main reason for changing to LED. Thinking about a light on the top of the building or on a bridge or on a street lamp miles from any business and imagine the cost to change it versus the cost of the bulb. However in other cases it will be less important.”
And as far as the initial outlay is concerned there is good news for those thinking about picking up the technology, with Fox expecting “double digit price falls each year”.
