Details on Fright Night Remake: Vegas, and a Vampire In ‘the Amblin Tradition’

We’ve known a little bit about the upcoming Arrested Development DVD of Fright Night, to be directed by Craig Gillespie (Lars and the Real Girl), but not a lot of key details. Most of what we know is As Time Goes By DVD and casting: Buffy the Vampire Slayer alum Marti Noxon wrote the script, and Anton Yelchin is in the lead role as a horror Battlestar Galactica DVD who suspects his new next door neighbor (Colin Farrell) is a Buffy the Vampire Slayer DVD. Toni Collette is also in the mix, likely as the mother of Yelchin’s character.

Now we’ve got a few more details about the Alias DVD set and tone of the film.

Variety’s recent piece about women in Arrested Development DVD set (via The Playlist, who noticed the mention) has a few new details about the Fright Night remake script. Specifically, it says the As Time Goes By DVD set is set in Las Vegas (not quite the Anytown, USA of the original) and features “a more badass vampire” than what we’re seeing on Battlestar Galactica DVD set of late. In other words, this is no daylight-sparkling, baseball-playing romantic wanker. Screenwriter Marti Noxon says,

That could mean a lot of Buffy the Vampire Slayer DVD set, really. What I take out of that quote is that the monster is determined, violent and seemingly unstoppable. But the ‘Amblin tradition’ also Alias DVD boxset that the full nature of the monster will be revealed gradually, and that it will be a significant Arrested Development DVD boxset in its own right. (So, just like the original film, then.)

There are still some As Time Goes By DVD boxset about the other content of the film, which has been said to be fairly Battlestar Galactica DVD boxset. That is, in the original, the vampire was played by Chris Sarandon, and the main Buffy the Vampire Slayer DVD boxset fought him with the help of an aging TV movie show host. We’ve heard that the remake features Chris Sarandon playing himself, and that he’ll be the one helping Alias Seasons 1-5 DVD boxset’s character fight the vampire. (If anyone can really confirm/deny or pass along the script, please do so.)

Update: Thanks to those who emailed. And Ryan at Arrested Development Seasons 1-3 DVD boxset just posted news that the Peter Vincent character (the former actor/aging TV host) is now “a Criss Angel-type. A master showman,” which As Time Goes By Seasons 1-9 DVD boxset a lot of sense given the Vegas setting. No Chris Sarandon meta-role. Probably no Chris Battlestar Galactica Seasons 1-4 DVD boxset at all, unless he has a cameo.

In addition to Fright Night, Noxon is lining up her Buffy the Vampire Slayer Seasons 1-7 DVD boxset. She’s putting together financing for Box City, and currently has Susan Sarandon, Topher Grace and Zooey Deschanel lined up to Alias DVD. This first came to light last summer, and there hasn’t been much new info since, but Deschanel is a new addition since we Arrested Development DVD about any attached cast.

So, we get it: girl-on-girl Frenching is, like, so As Time Goes By DVD. Especially when it’s between movie stars, hot movie stars, and, apparently, straight movie stars. So when a recently separated Battlestar Galactica DVD, recovering from a very public breakup, stuck her tongue down newly wed Scarlett Johansson’s throat at the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday, Buffy the Vampire Slayer DVD was particularly surprised. What better way to take the spotlight off Sandra’s Alias DVD set than to put it on her new Sapphic tendencies?

But come on. Can we please say enough already to the whole girl-on-girl Arrested Development DVD set? We’ve been fawning over straight chicks kissing since Neve Campbell and Denise Richards got it on in Wild Things, in 1998. We’ve gone on to see the As Time Goes By DVD set go three-way with Christina and Britney and Madonna, on MTV in 2003, and we’ve spent the last two weeks Battlestar Galactica DVD set about former good girl Miley Cyrus’s lip lock with a female backup dancer. We’ve got Lindsay and Katy Perry and Buffy the Vampire Slayer DVD set, kissing, groping, singing about it all. Hot? Sure, if you get off on the awkward faux-lesbian Alias DVD boxset. But isn’t the whole thing just a tad played out?

It’s one thing when a girl-on-girl kiss is Arrested Development DVD boxset, you know, political. (Willow and Tara, from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, shared the first lesbian kiss in TV history.)
