Nowadays, almost all the camera/camcorder producers, like Canon, Panasonic, Sony, JVC, Nikon,etc., are attaching more importance to provide their users with Full HD 1920 x 1080 60p enjoyment. They will get increasingly clearer and more vivid memories of their happy journeys and adventures. With the new generation of cameras and camcorders coming up, you can now not only share your great moments with your friends on HD TV, PC and Tablet, you can also project them on a 100" diagonal screen without any cables or connections.Everything seems great but you will still meet a problem when you want to ingest your AVCHD 1080p MTS/M2TS files in Adobe Premiere Elements 4.0 for editing since you will find that your editing software can not recognize and support the AVCHD format.

If you are intended to import AVCHD 1080p MTS/M2TS files to Adobe Premiere Elements 4.0, you have to transcode AVCHD 1080p MTS/M2TS files to MPEG-2, which is compatiblem with Adobe Premiere Elements 4.0. Here recommeded Brorsoft MTS/M2TS Converter for Mac. Applying it, you can easily and successfully transcode your AVCHD 1080p MTS/M2TS files to MPEG-2 by following the steps listed below.

Step 1: Import your AVCHD 1080p MTS/M2TS files to MTS/M2TS Converter.
Connect your AVCHD camera/camcorder to your PC with USB 2.0. Run the MTS/M2TS Converter and then click the button for adding to import your MTS/M2TS files.
Tip: If you have multiple 1080p MTS/M2TS files, you can select the “Merge into one” box to merge them into one single file for iMovie so that you can play these files without interruption.

Step 2: Select an output format compatiblem with Adobe Premiere Elements 4.0 and set the output folder.
Click the format box and you will get a drop-down list in which the last but one is what you need: Adobe Premiere/Sony Vegas> MPEG-2(*mpg). Then you can set the output folder by clicking “Browse” icon as you prefer.
Note: WMV(*.wmv) and MOV(AVC)(*mov) are also two choices for you.

Step 3: Click “Settings” icon to adjust audio and video parameters.
Click the “Settings” icon and you will go into a new interface named “Profile Settings”. You can adjust codec, bit rate, frame rate, sample rate and audio channel in the interface according to your needs and optimize the output file quality.
Note: You’d better set the video frame rate as 24fps, video size as 1920*1080 if you attach great importance to high quality and keep Dolby Digital 5.1 to get the best quality for editing in Adobe Premiere Elements 4.0.


Step 4: Start converting your AVCHD 1080p MTS/M2TS files to MPEG-2 for editing with Adobe Premiere Elements 4.0.
Click the “Convert” button; it will convert your AVCHD 1080p MTS/M2TS files to MPEG-2 for editing with Adobe Premiere Elements 4.0 immediately. You can find the process in the “Conversion” interface.

Now you can easily import the converted 1080p MTS/M2TS files to Adobe Premiere Elements 4.0 and proceed your editing work.
