A Visit to the Shifengshan Mountain—Dragon Well Tea’s Country of Origin
This morning, a group of journalists of the online media all over the country paid a visit to the tea capital—the mountainous area near the West Lake in Hangzhou, where is the country of origin of the West Lake Dragon Well tea. They experienced the rich culture and history of the longjing tea.
The Shifeng Mountain —— country of origin of the West Lake Dragon Well tea The West Lake longjing tea ranks first of the ten China famous teas, which has a history of more than 1,200 years and is reputed as the “queen of green teas”. As early as 1915, in the international fair in Panama, West Lake Dragon Well tea had won the special gold award, and was rated as “national tea”.
West Lake Dragon Well tea is collected in May and April every year, and it is the result of the ten techniques of professional tea roasters. Then, the fired tea leaves will be selected and ranked elaborately, and finally, the end products of tea are on the market.
The Shifeng Mountain is a first-grade protection zone of the country of origin of West Lake Dragon Well tea, where there are advantaged natural ecological conditions, warm and moist climate, and light drizzles. The mean annual temperature is about 16.1℃, the average humidity is over 80%, and the rainfall capacity is about 1500ml each year.
